Crazy!

There's a lot of crazy stuff going on in casa twiddletails which I won't bore your with, but it's definitely keeping me from regularly blogging (and getting any sewing done).

All I have today is some store news.

The new Summer 2010 issue of Quilts and More magazine arrived yesterday.
It's a great issue with more than one project I'd love to add to my (very long) list.

This quilt. Of course. It's pink.

How cute is this for a little boy? Or girl. In pink.
(All magazines are always 15% off.)

If you'd like a copy, you can find them here in the store.

Progress

I started working on my Spring to Finish projects this weekend.  Well, actually just one, because the weather and weeds were calling during the day.
It may not seem like much but I did add three or four flowers to the mini GFG quilt.
Mini hexes
I'm sure I won't finish this one by May 31st, but one can try...

For those who asked:
The green dots are Sent With Love Candy Dots and the yellow ones Moda Essential Dots.
The pinks are from my stash. Mostly leftovers from "that quilt".

Have a wonderful day!

Spring to Finish

It's Spring to Finish time and I've assembled a couple of WIPs.
(Do you remember that bottom one?)
Spring to Finish 2010
Maybe I could finish all these by May 31st...

If you'd like to challenge yourself, visit Jacquie's blog and sign up:

(BTW: by popular request I've changed the Freezer Paper Foundation Piecing tute to a PDF file, so it's now much easier to print and save.)

Have a wonderful weekend!

We interrupt this program...

These are on their way and I'm so exited! I may have to find some time to make one.
"Little Monsters" - the new pattern by Kellie Wulfsohn of Don't Look Now.

Over and above her normal raw edge applique, Kellie also added trapunto here to give the little monsters some dimension.
And did I mention that patterns for two lovely cushions are also included?
At the very least I'm going to make one of these.
I'm taking pre-orders now.  The patterns should be here next week.

Three Tops and a Pillowcase

As promised - my retreat "finishes".

A pillowcase made using a very easy method and french seams. I'll share this at a later stage.
The fabric is Birdie by Me & My Sister Designs for Moda. You can, of course, find it over here.

My three by three swap quilt top. Finally. Now to get it quilted.

Mod Mutts. I used some suggestions from the previous post and made the little mutts tumble.
Fabric: Mutt and Dumb Dot from Michael Miller Fabrics.
Pattern: So Charming by me.

And finally, my SewConnected 3 quilt top.
I decided to use a dotty sashing to separate the blocks but still keep the wonky feel.
To celebrate completing the top and motivate me to finish the quilt,
Panache will be 20% off in the store until the quilt is done.

A rather productive weekend, don't you agree?

Too Busy for Photos

I was having a little too much fun at retreat and did not take too many photos, but I did finish 3 quilt tops (I'll take photos outside today)
Worked on Mod Mutts:
Retreat 2010

I finally started on my French Provincial quilt, which I've been collecting fabrics for for a long time.

The scenery was a little distracting.
How picture perfect is this?

Eeeek!

I've been waiting for these with bated breath.
Today, this was in the mail box.
Fun, fun, fun!
twiddletails fabric!

twiddletails fabric!

I think this one is my favorite. Who could have thought that a little amateurish pencil sketch could look so good on fabric?

What do you think?

I've been playing around with ideas for using that cute Mutt fabric for something other than a dog bed.
This would be a cute and very practical little boy quilt using the "So Charming" pattern.
Modern Mutt Mock-up
I've made a couple of blocks and I really like them.

Opinions?

(Edited to add: I've added a kit to the store)

Another winner

The winner of the Antique Quilts magazine in Wednesday's giveaway is...

Annette who said: I love this idea of old and new for a magazine. Sounds like some wonderful projects inside.
I would recommend checking out her blog. She's a wonderful quilter.

(There are only two of these magazines left at the special price, so if you were waiting to see if you won...)

I have not yet heard from two of the winners in the fat quarter giveaway.  They have until Sunday.  After that I will draw two new names, so if you didn't win anything, you may still be in the game.

And just because you can't have a blog post without a picture, these came the other day. It's Frolic by Sandy Gervais for Moda.
I'm working on a very cute little project which I'll hopefully be able to show off over the weekend.

Have a wonderful, happy weekend everyone!

Spider Webs

These blocks are for the SewConnected 3 quilting bee, but I think I'm addicted.
Just one more thing to add the to list...
